Mud and sweat seem to be my Holy Place. I have been working with clay for over 19 years. Art is the sacred inspiration of my soul.

When I was a young woman I kept a journal of automatic drawings. I called some of them my little space people, I thought they were unusual looking and wondered where they came from in my consciousness.

Many years later I found a replica of one in the Book of Hopi, it was the Hopi Rain God. I was deeply moved by this experience. It led me to seek out differing groups of indigenous people that I felt I must have a connection to because of this inner experience. In fact I found that to be true. I began to understand myself more deeply as I traveled.

I found more of my drawings in the Peruvian culture, the Mayan culture and of course the Hopi culture. My slip trailing work reflects these images.

In my travels I was initiated into sacred ways by a Andean high Priest in Cuzco Peru and a Cherokee medicine man in the Nevada Dessert. I also attended a Lakota Sioux Sweat Lodge weekly for 10 years learning the ancient ways of the first people here.

I invite you to follow your art and well as your heart. You never know where it might lead you.

I hope you enjoy my work!
